I know that you will hear stories and options of places you could give everywhere you look today. Yes, on this giving Tuesday, I’m here to remind you that Yancy Ministries is one of those options. But, really it’s a plea to ask you to partner with me. I’ve really dialed in this year more than ever my mission: to help kids fall in love with Jesus one song at a time AND to Make Jesus Loud! I’m seeing those two things come to pass in a variety of ways.
I’ve been blessed to create music, play shows and lead worship for the last 27 years. Due to technology and the way people access those things. And even the pace churches are holding events is ever changing. There’s been many times this year where I’m found scratching my head. The process of me making the music and resources I make and going out to share those things live has already created a cycle that made it all work and the cycle repeated again and again. As so many things in the world change I realize my processes will need to change moving forward. I’m beginning to realize I am very much a missionary in the wild west of kids worship. I am a pioneer championing leaders to care about discipling kids in worship and teaching them how to do it. I am stepping into unchartered waters in creating a safe space for PK’s and ministry kids to be seen and felt heard and in process help pastors create healthier churches for their own kids and staff families through stainedglasskids.com.
When I think about telling you about the lives I get to impact I struggle for where to begin. Just this week I heard from a Mom in Malaysia. Another in Dubai. I’ve had ministry inquiries lately from England and Canada. I’m in a beautiful season where the first group of kids I started making music for are married and giving birth to a new generation of Yancy fans. I am blessed to see videos posted of churches big and small singing my songs. It never gets old pushing play and hearing my song or a creation I’ve been a part of resource the church. My book “Sweet Sound” is used in ministry coaching groups to call leaders to be aware of the power of discipling kids in worship. I’ve started offering coaching for kids ministry worship leaders and getting to come alongside local church leaders to strengthen making Sunday happen. See in ministry I have story after story realizing it wasn’t about the stage or the size of the crowd…but in many cases it was about one person. Yes, God does have people put on whole events and do lots of work to capture the heart of one.
I want to keep doing what God has called me to do. I need help. Honestly, it’s hard for me to admit that. I’m a take matters into my own hands kind of gal. But, I realize for me to keep being in places impacting lives, one person, home and church at a time, I need help. I need YOUR help to keep making Jesus loud.
